Q.When can my newborn start
wearing a Konny carrier?
As soon as you bring your little one home from the postpartum care center! Babies weighing 4-20 kg. can use this product. All babies are different, but most infants should be held according to the newborn instructions up to 30 days after birth.
Q.Is there a recommended
duration of use?
All children grow at different speeds, so this will differ too. We recommend that you keep a close eye on how your child reacts to the carrier to know when it's time to move on.
- After feeding, please loosen a bit to give your little one some more room.
- We also recommend you don't use the carrier for more than two hours at a time. When your child is able to hold their head up, we recommend keeping use down to 30 minutes or less at a time to protect their hip joints.
- Please keep in mind that prolonged use in one position can cause your baby discomfort.
- If they're in a deep sleep, it's best to move them onto their back.
Q.When can I start the inward-
facing carry position?
All children are different, but for the most part 30-50 days after birth is a good time to try the inward-facing carry. You can try this out when you see your little one stretching their legs in the carrier. Keep in mind that the most important thing for their joints is helping them maintain the M position.
Q.Can both parents use this
carrier?
Yes, the FLEX carrier is adjustable and can be used by Mom or Dad.
Q.The carrier keeps leaning to
one side.
The carrier can lean if the back panel isn't centered, or the shoulder sashes aren't spread out evenly on both sides. Please check both elements before placing your child in the carrier, and make sure they're balanced in the center when covering their bottom and thighs. It may feel a bit tricky at first, but with a little practice, it will begin to feel like second nature.
Q.Will I need to upgrade to
a larger size as my baby grows?
Our spandex blend stretches and moves with your little one as they grow larger and heavier. This means if you purchase the right size for them, it will continue to last and fit them as they grow.
Q.How is this different from
a side carry design?
It's best and safest to always carry a newborn upright. Infants have short esophaguses, so sitting in a twisted position can come uncomfortable reflux. They can also suffocate on their mother's breast, and the pressure of the carrier can cause hip dislocation.
